Notch+

There are a lot of notch apps. Most try to do everything.

A few things. Done perfectly.

Notch+ turns the notch into a small island for what needs you. Claude Code approvals, messages you can answer, a player with lyrics, a file shelf. Free, and it stays on your Mac.

The Claude Code hook listens on 127.0.0.1 with a secret token in an owner-only file.

Not notarized. Notarizing needs a paid Apple Developer account, and I am not able to enroll in it. The app is signed ad-hoc and the source is public. The first time you open it, macOS shows a warning: click Done, then open System Settings > Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to Notch+. You do this once.

The Homebrew install clears the warning for you (newer Homebrew asks you to trust a third-party tap first, which is the second line). Needs a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later.

Then open Settings and Connect Claude Code (you see the exact change first, and a backup is saved). Give Notch+ Full Disk Access so it can read notifications and Messages.
